Fuji Police Bikes Review
The brand new Fuji Police Bikes are completely shaking up the Police Bicycle industry, as well as Security, EMS, Ranger and other organizations that utilize bicycles as a form of patrol or emergency response. For starters, FUJI is a world renowned bicycle company that has a history of providing some of the best bikes in the bicycling industry from Mountain to Road and BMX to Comfort. The newly designed Police Bikes are now putting the Fuji name at the top of the list when it comes to the "IT" bike in the industry.
Rounding out the Patrol bike are bar ends, water bottle cages, and a quality rear rack. All you need to add is a bag and light system and this bike is ready to roll. The Fuji Special Police bike is taking things to an entirely new level. With a brand new and reinforced Altair frame, this bike packs durability and performance into a bike that only weighs 29 pounds with the bar ends, rack and cages. The Fuji Special Drive train is 27 speeds of Shimano Deore with rapid fire shifters. Front and Rear brakes take care of stopping for you. One of the most impressive features on the Special is the Rock Shox Recon Air Fork. When riding with suspension, you can have a tendency to bounce a little bit when really pedaling hard, which can take away some of your efficiency. The fork on the Special Bike has a remote lock out. Right next to your thumb placement on the left grip is the switch. Push one button and the suspension is turned off, creating a rigid fork. Push the other button and it is turned on again -- all without having to move your hand -- pretty impressive, but that is not all! The Recon Air fork on the Fuji Special truly is an adjustable suspension fork. You will often hear that a fork has 85mm, or 50 to 110mm of suspension. On this fork, you set it wherever you want. On the fork itself is a guide, i.e. 50mm, 85mm, 110mm. On the top of the fork is a dial that when turned, literally expands and contracts the fork. If you want to sit higher on the front of the bike, turn it to 110mm and the fork will expand, raising the front of the bike. The suspension will then be set to the 110mm range, and when not needed, push the lockout button and it is turned off. The Fuji Special is also designed to be a comfortable bike to ride. There is a very nice adjustable stem, and the seatpost is a micro-adjust suspension seatpost. All the Fuji police bicycles have double thick tread tires with reflective strips and do well on a variety of terrain. |
