Product Description
The Topeak MTX Beam Rack is designed for mountain biking and heavy commuting use. It has an improved quick release mechanism that is more secure and easier to use. It is compatible with all Topeak MTX trunk bags and has a 20lb carrying capacity. It includes rubber bungees and safety relectors.
The Topeak MTX Trunk bags feature a mountain system that slides right into this rack and clicks into place. If you have the MTX DXP or MTX EXP Bag, be sure to add the optional side frames for the panniers.

Great Idea...But needs improvement, 5.10.2008
We purchased these racks for our EMS bike unit. The idea was that we could leave our bike behind, slide the bag off and walk a short distance if needed. This way we could treat the patient without walking back and fourth to our bikes. The bags that go with these racks work great, but the racks themselves tend to slide around on the seat post when lying the bike down, or aggressively riding which leads to a major safety concern. The company finally released a more traditional style rack that accommodates the slide off bags that will attach to the rear bike frame to stop the rack from sliding.
